Oh dear God. He looks like Jimmy the non-drinker went to Europe with friends and got way too loaded for words. (Anyone see Eurotrip?) He has worn that Amsterdam t-shirt for 6 days. The more fucked up he gets, the cooler he thinks his friends think he is. He starts calling himself Jimbo and is secretely a little afraid he may never regain control. He thinks he might have a little urine running down his leg but is too drunk to remember how to stand. Fortunately he is a nice guy and his friends don't hold this rebellion against him. They will, however, tease him about it for the rest of his life. An ingenuous method of torment will be a slide show at his parents' 25th wedding anniversary party. Have you ever seen anyone try to hang a moon out of one of those little European cars? Not pretty. Not pretty at all.

His name is Jimmy. He has three good friends - all neighborhood guys that have known him since his parents moved down the street from their parents when they were all in the second grade. Jimmy and his friends all started high school this year. Jimmy is a chronic underachiever in school, while his friends are all very bright. Consequently, he is not in any classes with his best (and only) friends at his new school. His friends are starting to meet lots of new kids at school now, and are paying less and less attention to Jimmy. But, Jimmy still finds out where the guys are - typically from Ryan's mom - and shows up to hang out, despite feeling hurt because he was not invited in the first place. Jimmy's old friends are secretly embarressed by him, but still feel a certain sense of loyalty toward him and don't want to hurt his feelings - so they let him hang out whenever he happens to show up and treat him decently. Jimmy inwardly knows what is happening, and feels a deep sense of sadness that he does not show outwardly . Still, he can not seem to move on, and repeatedly subjects himself to situations that cause him pain and embarressment. Often these situations are at parties where his friends tend to drink socially and talk with their new friends about things Jimmy can't relate to. Jimmy consequently tends to drink to excess as a means of 'escape'. He secretly hopes someone will notice this cry for help, but they never do. So, Jimmy has started to do other less than subtle things for attention like driving off drunk (often squeeling his tires for extra effect) - things that actually further alienate him from his old friends. Although Jimmy regularly contemplates suicide, his parents have no idea that he has these thoughts - in fact, they don't even know that Jimmy and the guys are 'on-the-outs' these days.
